Barbara "Barb" Ann Greulich

Barbara Ann “Barb” Greulich, 88 of Zanesville, died 12:27 AM, Friday, March 3, 2017 at The Oaks at Northpointe. She was born Monday, July 2, 1928 in Zanesville, the daughter of Claude A. Archer and Mildred L. (Kirby) Archer. She married Jim Greulich on Thursday, June 8, 1950. Barb was a dedicated member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where she served on the Rosary Altar Society, was a member of the Bereavement Committee, volunteered as receptionist and was very involved in many church activities. She was active in the Literacy Council as a tutor, Good Samaritan Gray Lady volunteer, Friends of the Library and the Brighton Historical Society. Barb served as treasurer for the local AARP, the Publications Volunteer for the Muskingum County Genealogy Society and was an usher for Secrest Auditorium since 1990. She was a charter member and past secretary for the local Public Employee Retirees Group and retired as Records Clerk with the Muskingum County Sheriff's Department following many years of service. Barb enjoyed being a faithful participant of the WHIZ Group, "Tuesday's at Tom's." Barb was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family Barb is survived by one daughter: Chris (Tom) Evans; two sons: Harold J. Greulich & Claude (Dawn) Greulich all of Zanesville; one son-in-law: Loren Mautz of Zanesville; ten grandchildren: Dale E. Mautz of Manchester, NH, Kay (Barry) Israel of Zanesville, Tommy Evans of Columbus, Vicki (Dan) Magnussen of Dublin, Jeremy Leedham of Zanesville, Noelle Mason of Columbus, Heather Leedham of Columbus, Heidi Webb of Newark, Melody (Brandon) Etters of White Cottage and Kyle (Amber) Greulich of Zanesville; 23 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband: Jim Greulich; one daughter: Kathy Mautz; two sisters & brothers-in-law: Betty Lou (Bob) Polen and Joy (Bern) Brailer. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where a Christian Vigil will be held at 7:45 PM. Mass of Christian will be Celebrated 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 144 North Fourth Street, Zanesville with a Dominican Father as Celebrant.
