Mary E. Price

Mary E. Price 87 of Zanesville Oh was welcomed into the everlasting arms of God, Friday April 24, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. after a lengthy illness. She was born April 18, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Della M. Harris-Fowler, of Antioch, (Cutler) OH. Two husbands preceded her in death: Virgil G. Norris Sr. and Jesse D. Price and one infant son, Anthony Lee Price: five brothers and three sisters: Georgia Mae Morgan, Margaret Wilburn-Morgan, Ruth A. Fowler-Norris: five brothers Howard, Isaac, Namon, Elza and Paul Fowler. She is survived by her devoted children: Veronica G. “Kicky” and James L. “Butch” Smith of the home Virgil and (Beverly) Norris, Karen L. and (Ernest H.) Griffin II, Andrew M. Price and Thomas and (Roxanne) Price all of Zanesville, OH. Linda S. and (Howard D.) Brent of Laurel, MD., Jessie Y. Price-Beale and (Daniel) Beale of Endwell, NY; Rita E. Price-McKenzie of Norcross, GA; Shelia A. Price-Norris of Columbus, OH; a step-son Forest Aber of Newark, OH; and one sister Icyle Brent of Zanesville, OH; Two sisters in-law, Mary Jean Price of Milwaukee, WI., and Mary Hughes and one brother in-law James Norris both of Zanesville, OH. At the time of her death she had 40 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary was a passionate and skillful Pie Baker. She earned a trademark of “Mary Price’s Pies and Bread” which was enjoyed and savored by many that knew her. Her hobbies and skills ranged from quilt making to her walking at least 5 - 7 miles daily. She maintained an upright approach to kindness while still teaching values and integrity to those that surrounded her. She was an active and lifetime member of Church of God and Saints of Christ, Tabernacle Number 2, where she served on the Widows and Orphans committee. She also overseen the church’s kitchen for a number of years and worked countless hours organizing and supporting numerous dinners as fund raising events. She was committed and devoted to do the will of God’s work. She was a member of the I.B.P.O.E W Elks Lodge #82 and Pride of Muskingum Temple 627 of Zanesville, and a member of the Prince-Hall Masonic Lodge #30 Order of the Eastern Star Chapter. Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM & on Friday, May 01, 2015 at the Church of God Saints of Christ, 516 Cliffwood Ave., Zanesville, OH. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, May 01, 2015 at Church of God and Saints of Christ 516 Cliffwood Avenue Zanesville OH with Elder Mark D. Cunningham officiating.
