Paul A Joseph

The world lost a true classic in the passing of Paul A. Joseph 76, as he took his last adventure of life and passed in to the hands of our Lord Peacefully on Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 at his home while in the wonderful care of Genesis Hospice. At one time he was owner and operator of the Sinclair Gas Station on Maysville Avenue, retiring from Cooper Industries. He was a member of the SAL, American Legion Post 29, the Zanesville Eagles Aire 302 and the Muskingum County Genealogy Society. He was instrumental in starting the first men’s slow pitch softball league and was a member of the Berger Beer and Lime Material teams. He also won several championships while on a bowling team at Sunrise Bowling Lanes. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes and played on the Sliver Dollar Bar team at one time. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Football and Basketball and Loved NASCAR, his favorite being the Ford racing teams. Family members got him in an airplane flying to Las Vegas one time and he traveled several times to Winsor, Canada, and to Hilton Head to play golf,(putt putt) once. He also went many times to spend a week in Columbus, Georgia at Fort Benning visiting Greg while he was in the service. Son of Frederick and Margaret Durant Mehling Joseph, he was born on the family farm on Dietz Lane, December 23, 1938. He started school at St. Nicholas and went to Philo in the 9th grade, being on the football team, and graduating with the class of 1959. Preceding him in death are his brothers, Robert Mehling, Raymond Mehling, Donald Mehling, Louis Joseph and Carl Joseph; and infant sister, Celeste Joseph; grandchildren, Joshua and Julie Joseph and Katie Lea Tipton' he was also preceded in death by the mother of Greg and Yvette, Pauline F. Pletcher Joseph. He is survived by his wife, Trudi Kessler Joseph; children Greg and Peggy Joseph of Nashport, Yvette and Mark Cade of Alliance, Carl Tipton and Shanna of Zanesville and Paul Tipton and Minnie of Roseville; grandchildren, Anthony & Ashley Joseph of Columbus, Drew Joseph and Amanda of Zanesville, Andrew Tipton and Stephanie of Zanesville, Tiffany Tipton and Brian of Crooksville, Brian McCort of Columbus and Brittany McCort of Nashport and Chad Irvin of Frazeysburg; great grandchildren, Kannen, Amara, Andrew, Averill, McKinley and Dayten; and one sister, Mary Coates of Zanesville; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Hillis, Combs and Nestor Funeral, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday May 9th at the funeral home with Father Ralko officiating. Entombment will be following in the Muskingum Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Gorsuch Road, Nashport.
