Claude J. Foley

Claude J. Foley, 71 of Zanesville, died 10:28 PM Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Genesis Morrison House Hospice in Zanesville, following a long illness. He was born Sunday, September 12, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA the son of Henry J. Foley and Marjory F. (Brown) Foley. He married Beverly J. “Bev” (Magill) Foley on Saturday, January 4, 1964 and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this January. Claude served his country as a veteran of The United States Air Force where he served in Italy. He worked for The Roekel Company, retiring following 33 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post 888, Lifetime member of The Disable American Veterans, Dominican Laity of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Boy Scouts of America and a former Democrat Central Committeemen. Claude was a dedicated and faithful member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where he enjoyed being a member of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and serving as a lector. In addition to his wife: Bev Foley, Claude is survived by three daughters: Ann &Tim Combs and Bonnie & Shane Beebe both of Zanesville and Connie Barker of Newark; one son: Dan Foley of Zanesville; six grandchildren: Jackie & Ernie Windgardner, Katie Barker, Matthew Beebe, Brandon Barker, J.C. Foley and Seaun Foley; two great grandchildren: Lilly Morgan and McKenzie Winegardner; one brother: Brian Foley of High Point, NC; one sister: Diana & Joe Click of Malta, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by one great grandson: Dallas Barker; and one sister: Anita L. Foley. Friends may call from 2:00 to 6:00 PM, Sunday, October 19, 2014 at The Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, where the Dominican Laity will recite the Rosary at 5:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Monday, October 20, 2014 at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 144 North 4th Street, Zanesville with Fr. Stephen Dominic Hayes as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary with VFW Post 1058 and The United States Air Force conducting Full Military Honors.
