Glenna Marie Thomas

Glenna Marie Thomas, 91, of South Zanesville died August 4, 2022, at her home. Born October 4, 1930 in Chandlersville, OH she was the daughter of Raymond and Nellie (Coleman) Okey. Glenna lived most of her life as a homemaker and caregiver to many family members and friends. She also worked in her retirement years for a family business, Sprinter Marking of Zanesville. Glenna so enjoyed her many years as an election poll worker visiting with many in the community. For over thirty years Glenna hosted her 1948 annual class reunion in her home looking forward to seeing her classmates from South Zanesville High School. Many later in life friendships began with her participation, beginning in 1988, at the Fieldhouse. She also enjoyed friendships through her monthly card club which continued for over sixty years. Glenna never met a stranger and a friend to many, even the occasion wrong phone number! As caregiving was first and foremost in Glenna’s life this blessing was returned to her and her family by a special group of caregivers. With heartfelt gratitude the family thanks Sandy Sims, Judy Chambers, Jane Ransom, Alexis Foster Mozena and Kelli Hayes. Glenna was in the care of Genesis Hospice for the past five years. Survivors include son Steve Thomas (Mary Ann Shell) of South Zanesville and daughter Stephanie (Jeff) Brown of Columbus. Three grandchildren: Ryan (Traci) Thomas of Grove City, Chase (Tanya) Thomas of Richmond Heights and Emily (Michael) Hullihan of Dublin. Four great grandchildren: Brady Thomas, Chance Thomas, Jack Hullihan and Luke Hullihan. One sister, Mary Lou Bishop and several nieces and nephews. Glenna is preceded in death by her husband Charles, three brothers, George, Kenneth and Robert Okey and her great granddaughter Langdon Jade Thomas.
