Matthew A. "Matt" Dollings

Matthew A. "Matt" Dollings, 35 of Zanesville, died at 4:55 AM on Saturday October 18, 2014 at The Ohio State University Medical Center, following a short illness. He was born Sunday January 28, 1979 in Zanesville, the son of Jeffrey J. Dollings and Elizabeth A. (Whikehart) Dollings. He married Sarah E. “Beth” Durant on Saturday April 30, 2005 and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Matt was a 1997 graduate of Bishop Rosecrans High School. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio University and received a Master’s Degree in Accounting and Financial Management from Keller Graduate School of Management. He was an avid sports fan, with a passion for baseball. He followed the Cincinnati Reds, Dallas Cowboys and Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a loving and caring son, brother, husband and father, who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his wife and two beautiful children. Matt is survived by his wife, parents, two children: Drew & Emma Dollings; ten brothers and sisters; Jeremy Dollings, Sean Dollings, Brian Dollings, Adam (Aubrey) Dollings, Sarah (J.B.) Cunningham, Megan (Ray) Orr, Caitlin Dollings, Daniel Dollings, all of Zanesville; Abby Dollings of Paragould, AR and Jenna Dollings of Zanesville; a special uncle and mentor: Bill Whikehart of Duncan Falls; his father & mother-in-law: Charles & Sally Durant of Zanesville; two brothers-in-law: Bill (Tammy) Durant of Zanesville and John (Cathy) Durant of Mars, PA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. In addition to his grandparents: James A. & Mary E. Dollings and Walter & Jane Whikehart, Matt was preceded in death by one sister-in-law: Kathleen Decker. Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday October 23, 2014 at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville where a Christian Vigil will be held at 7:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Friday October 24, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church 935 Main Street, Zanesville with Fr. Martin J. Ralko as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt.
