Rolland Albert Coffey

Rolland Albert Coffey, age 86 of Zanesville, OH died at 3:18 AM, Sunday, January 18, 2015 under the care of Genesis Hospice at his home in Zanesville. He was born Thursday, January 19, 1928 in Zanesville, the son of Patrick Coffey and Wava (Harmon) Coffey. He was married to Carolyn (Walter) Coffey who survives. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 29. Rolland served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed by the Coffey Marathon Service for 41 Years and retired in May of 1985; he then was employed by Southeast Tire until he suffered a stroke in 1995. He loved the Cincinnati Reds, bowling, fishing, was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Nancy Beckert of Zanesville and Julie (Jerry) Siddle of Frazeysburg, OH; two sons, Michael (Pam) Coffey of Zanesville and Thomas (Tracie) Coffey of Blue Rock, OH; one brother, Dick (Anita) Coffey of McConnelsville, OH; five sisters, Bernice Osborne, Dorothy Cook, Helen (Kent) King all of Zanesville; Jane (Frank) Tignor of Carrollton, TX and Judy Archer of Dublin, OH; six grandchildren; Heather (Michael) Thacker of Dublin, Doug (Johnesa) Beckert,, Brent (Megan Harris) Coffey, Brianna Coffey, Joe (Amanda) Siddle, and Jami Siddle all of Zanesville; six great grandchildren, Aaron and Natalie Thacker of Dublin, Emerson Coffey, Channing and Brenae Beckert and Harper Siddle all of Zanesville; and one step great grandchild, Derek Collins of Zanesville. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Crystal Coffey. Friends may call from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, at 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be prayed at 10:00 AM on Thursday January 22, 2015 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Zanesville with the Dominican Father as celebrant. Burial will conclude in the Mt. Olive Cemetery Zanesville where the VFW and U.S. Army will conduct Full Military Honors.
